SkillsTrain backs PM’s first YOPEY

Published: 15th Oct 07

YOPEY
The YOPEY awards (Young People of the Year) were started to counter press criticism of young people and to highlight those who give their time and efforts to their community for the benefit of those around them.

Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown has agreed to judge the latest `YOPEY’ awards, currently being promoted in `Take a Break Magazine’ (11th October), while Gordon Brown will host a reception for the winners at No 10 Downing Street in 2008.

SkillsTrain are providing prizes of its `Complete Accounts Professional’ home learning course and a personal computer for the person who nominates the winner of the awards. Winners themselves receive cash prizes.

Jan Telensky, CEO of SkillsTrain said “We sponsored the first regional YOPEYs, in Hertfordshire and are sponsoring the current Nottinghamshire and Cambridge regional competitions. We are delighted that the Prime Minister is presenting the awards for the first national YOPEY scheme and very pleased to be associated with it through our prize donations”.
