Plumbing - Building on your skills for life
Studying to become a plumber or gas engineer is easy with the right career training course.
The first step you will take on your journey to becoming a domestic gas engineer or plumber will begin with book based learning. With a good college, you will get assigned to a tutor team who can oversee your progress as you go through the course, they will also keep track of your plumbing achievements throughout your course and as well as this they can be on the other end of the phone or an email if you get stuck or would like advice. The courses themselves are carefully planned so that you can work easily throughout the subjects at your own pace. You will also complete assignments which you send to your tutor team for marking and guidance, and once this has been done you can move onto the next section. Learning this way also allows you to go back over subjects if you want to revise more efficiently and ensure your knowledge in the subject is sound.
Step two is usually the virtual reality E-Learning stage, which you begin once you have learned the basic course theory of domestic plumbing. The E-Learning stage is highly advanced and allows you to actually practice your skills, such as diagnosing and repairing faults in a virtual reality house on your own computer, ensuring you have the skills you need before you do anything on your own home or someone else’s, it’s a highly visual and fun too, allowing the information to become more memorable.
The final stage is Practical Training, allowing you to try out your newly learned skills with real life tools on actual appliances, putting everything you have learned into practice in a workshop environment. You will be guided by qualified tutors, to ensure any bumps in your knowledge are smoothed over, allowing your plumbing knowledge is second to none. You can then attend various other hands-on modules involving bathrooms, kitchens and other types of domestic settings to give you a real feel for the work you could one day be doing.
